People’s Republic of China Ambassador of Ankara who came to Izmir with the representatives of leader companies in his country, Yu Hongyang visited Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu. Chinese Enterpreneurs stated that they are in Izmir to look over the investment and collaboration possibilities in the city.
Chinese Ambassador Hongyang made a speech in the friendly visit and mentioned that they are in Izmir to improve bilateral relations and added “The visit is not only visit of courtesy. We believe that we can improve our concrete collaboration. For that reason, a council of businessmen accompany me besides consulates and consulate generals. They are the representatives of Chinese leading companies. We do not only look on the past, but also the future. In which fields, projects, we can make cooperation? We want to bring all these out.” The Ambassador identified Izmir as the “most ideal door” which opens through Europe and Africa. Chinese Companies want to make business in Izmir. Besides, he added that Izmir is a country of imagination for most Chinese tourists. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu said that he is open to the collaborations of the country and the city. He added that Izmir is safe, democratic, gives value to the differences and supports different life styles, as “Turkey’s number one city” near to important markets and has logistic power for the port.
He added that he is ready to anything needed and open to collaborations in every respect particularly tourism, service sector, fair organizations, industrial.
Mayor Kocaoğlu invited Chinese company representatives to Izmir fairs and said:“We have to improve our capability to know each other, integrate and work together. Besides, I recommend Chinese companies which are interested in Çandarlı port to deal with Izmir port as well.”
Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu gave information to Chinese councils about Izmir’s environment investments and added that Izmir is the most ideal place for fiberglass factory which is considered to be built in nearby geography and that China Southern Airlines will begin flights to Izmir.
