World Tourism Writers in Izmir |
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu gathered with World Tourism Writers Federation (FIJET) committee who came to Izmir within “Travel Turkey Izmir” and “International Gastronomy Tourism Congress” that pieced tourism professionals from 31 countries together. President of FIJET in which 700 reporters from 22 countries are members, Tijani Haddad, Turkey President Ertan Sandıkçıoğlu and Member of Board Sema Kutlu are hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu; he gave information about the activities on reconstructing the city, diversifying tourism.
FIJET President Tijani Haddad mentioned that Izmir is a very important city in Mediterranean in respect of tourism and economy and added that it is beneficial to handle Mediterranean as a whole and laid the foundations of Mediterranean Tourism Federation as a very important attempt to increase tourism collaboration. Haddad stated that they want to see Izmir in the federation, “In Mediterranean there is intense sea traffic and environment pollution. The solution is not in the hands of one country. We are face to face with the struggles in tourism area. It is essential for the decision makers to work together and stand tall against terrorism. In this sense, we believe that we can build up a collaboration between Mediterranean countries.” Haddad said that he liked Fair Izmir very much and found it important for the sector.
