Direct Flight bunches together friends |
As direct flights has started between Izmir and Thesselonike, two friends mayors Aziz Kocaoğlu and Yannis Boutaris brought close together one more time. Guest Mayor Boutaris said “For me Turkish people are my brothers and sisters, Europeans are my partners. People can make arguments with partners and change their ways, however do not change paths even though they fall out with brothers/sisters, stay in the same way together.”
A publicity meeting is held by Greece Airlines in Adnan Menderes Airport related to the flights which are 2 times weekly on Tuesday and Saturday between Izmir and Thesselonike. Thesselonike Mayor Yannis Boutaris came from Thesselonike to Izmir is welcomed by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu, Greece Izmir Head Consulate Theodore Tsakiris, Izmir Chamber of Commerce President of Board Ekrem Demirtaş and TAV and Izmir General Director Erkan Balcı at the airport.
Just after a warm welcome, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlumade a speech in a ceremony held; “Thesselonike and Izmir are partner cities in Aegean Sea. We are very pleased for the direct flights which will increase the synergy and develop two cities. Thesselonike Municipality Mayor has great efforts in starting these flights. If we will fill up the plane mutually and the airline company will be pleased, the flights will increase in number and seaway will make its way. I thank in the name of Izmir public for whom contributed.”
Thesselonike Municipality Mayor Yannis Boutaris said that they will also give their all for seaway. Boutaris, “Izmir and Thesselonike are two sisters. They have a mother, Istanbul. These sisters should see each other. Greece is a door through Balkans for Izmir businessman. Izmir is also a door through East. We hope sad events will soon be gone in the east.” said.
In the ceremony Greece Izmir Head Consulate Theodore Tsakiris, Izmir Chamber of Commerce President of Board Ekrem Demirtaş, Elinair President Giannis Mouzenidis and TAV Izmir General Director Erkan Balcı made speech.
