Izmir Metropolitan Municipality started its first efforts to support employment of locals in Izmir by organizing Vocational Courses and Skill Courses between 2006 and 2014 and then launched Meslek Fabrikası in 2014.
Employment orientation is arranged in cooperation with Provincial National Education Directorate, trade associations, civil societies, Labor and Employment Organization Izmir Provincial Directorate and other public organizations and establishments by taking into account sectors and branches that are in need of “semi-skilled” staff and benefit from direct employment through everchanging, intensive and target oriented courses.
People intending to acquire a profession, long term unemployed people, unemployed women, unemployed young people, unemployed disabled, other disadvantageous groups, people intending excel in their professions and people looking for a career change might attend to Meslek Fabrikası courses.
KOSGEB certified entrepreneurship courses are organized for entrepreneurs who are planning to set up own business.
“Supporting Revenue Generating Rural Activities” and “Peninsula Development Strategy” Projects organize courses tailored according to the features and employment needs of each district.
FABRİKALAB İZMİR
FabrikaLab Izmir is a series of creativity workshops that will turn dreams into reality and this will be incorporated into Meslek Fabrikası as workshops that will enable making almost anything with computer-controlled tools and a number of materials with various sizes.
FabrikaLab İzmir will be a platform where design, art, craft, engineering and entrepreneurship professionals or amateurs come together in common work areas and share their works.
